Arizona Statewide TPT Requirement
Apply for a state TPT license and file taxes per your city/county requirements. For help:

Maricopa County Requirement
Register with the County
Local Requirements
Apply for city license and pay appropriate fees. You will need:
- Physical Address
- Acquire property insurance including at least $500K in liability insurance and plan to provide proof to the city during the licensing process.
- Name, address, telephone number of the owner (or statutory agent if owned by entity)
- Name, address, telephone number of each designee of the owner
- Name, address, and 24-hour telephone number of the emergency point of contact
- Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) number
You will also need to:
- Acknowledge compliance with all laws, regulations, and ordinances
- Attest applicant is a U.S. citizen
- Attest owner or owner’s designee are not sex offenders, or had a felony acts as described in the application.

- Ensure compliance of local safety and cleanliness ordinances (See details in our detailed permit guide in our AZRT member portal (login required). Not a member yet? Join here >)
- Acknowledge prohibited uses of short-term rental (See details in our detailed permit guide in our AZRT member portal (login required). Not a member yet? Join here >)
Note: Allow 7 business days for city to approve or deny license
Don’t forget: Once you have your license, you must:
- Display or list your city vacation rental license number on each advertisement for a vacation rental or short-term rental located within the city
- Prominently display your interior signage notice (provided by the city with your license) on the inside of the front door and the primary door to the backyard or a conspicuous location near each such door.
