Arizona Statewide TPT Requirement

Apply for a state TPT license and file taxes per your city/county requirements. For help:

Register with the County

Local Requirements

Apply for city license and pay appropriate fees. You will need:

  • Name, address, telephone number, and email of the owner (or owner’s agent)
  • Physical address of STR Property
  • Name, address, telephone number of each designee of the owner
  • State of Arizona Transaction Privilege Tax (TPT) License number or other proof of compliance
  • The name and contact information of a person(s) designated as an emergency contact(s), and the name and contact information of a person(s) designated as a property complaint contact(s) (See more about this in our detailed permit guide in our AZRT member portal (login required). You will also need to:

  • Comply with the federal, state, and local laws, rules, and regulations related to public health, safety, sanitation, solid waste, hazardous waste, tax privilege licensing including advertising requirements, property tax registration, traffic control, pollution control, noise, property maintenance, and nuisance abatement. A violation is a civil offense subject to the appropriate fine for a verified violation
  • Acknowledge prohibited uses of short-term rental.

Note: Allow 7 business days for city to approve or deny license
